Being a parent is a hard job—and it doesn’t come with a manual. To make things even more complicated, every child is different!
I work with parents who want to better understand their child or teen, strengthen their parent-child relationship, and help their child develop the skills they need to manage life’s inevitable challenges and build resilience.
I am passionate about helping children and teens see themselves positively and build on their strengths so they can feel more confident in themselves, their relationships, at school, and in extracurricular activities and sports.
As a Clinical and School Psychologist, I see clients in the Milton and Oakville offices, as well as virtually. I have experience providing both assessment and treatment for children and adolescents who learn differently, including those with ADHD and learning disabilities. I approach these concerns from a place of understanding—working collaboratively with children, parents, and families to identify strengths, better understand challenges, and determine appropriate supports for home and school.
I also support children, teens, and their families when emotions such as anxiety, sadness, or anger begin getting in the way of everyday life, including family relationships, school, friendships, sports, or other activities they enjoy. I help children and teens better understand their emotions and develop practical skills for managing big feelings and navigating challenges. My approach draws primarily from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), adapted for children and adolescents, while incorporating strategies from other research-supported approaches such as EFT and DBT based on each client’s needs.
I strive to help my clients feel comfortable talking about hard things by taking a warm, nonjudgmental, and collaborative approach and getting to know them as a whole person. I start by listening to your concerns, understanding your child’s history, and learning about their individual strengths and interests. Together, we then develop a plan tailored to your child and family.
If you’re unsure about the next step or which services might be most helpful, I’m happy to talk things through with you and help determine an appropriate starting point.
