Grief, Trauma and Questions about Life Transitions
Many people come to therapy wanting more than symptom relief—they want to better understand themselves, their patterns, and what truly matters to them. My approach is grounded in creating a thoughtful, open, and collaborative space where this kind of exploration can happen safely.
My work is strongly informed by the science of psychotherapy and by the central role of the therapeutic relationship. Together, we pay attention to emotions, values, and the inner narratives that shape how you relate to yourself and others. I help clients develop greater emotion regulation, self-understanding, and perspective on long-standing habits and assumptions—always with curiosity rather than judgment.
Before joining The Mindful Living Centre, I served as a Staff Psychologist, directed a Mood & Anxiety clinic, and was a Professor of Clinical Psychology at York University, where I specialized in psychotherapy research, anxiety, motivation, and clinician training. I have led several clinical trials, published extensively, and trained many psychologists and psychotherapists—experiences that deeply inform my clinical work with numerous clients over my career.
I am continually inspired by the unique capacity of therapy to reduce suffering and support people in living more reflective, grounded, and meaningful lives. Outside of work, I enjoy cycling, travelling, and playing bridge.
