Marie Alexis sees clients in person in the Milton and Oakville clinics, in addition to offering virtual sessions. She is a registered social worker (RSW) who works with adults navigating anxiety in romantic relationships and other life areas, perinatal challenges, recovery from trauma, narcissistic abuse, and life/identity transitions, among other concerns. She believes that a strong therapeutic relationship provides the foundation for positive change, and strives to make therapy a space where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered to explore new ways of being.

Led by the belief that therapy should meet you where and how you are, Marie uses a variety of clinical approaches to support clients’ movement towards personal growth. These include EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), as well as applied mindfulness and emotion-focused interventions. Marie approaches therapy with a deep respect for each person’s unique cultural identity, values, and experiences. She recognizes that healing does not happen in isolation from broader social and historical contexts, and is committed to practicing from a place of cultural humility, equity, and openness.

She received her Master of Social Work degree at Wilfrid Laurier University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the University of British Columbia. She is a member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, and the Ontario Association of Social Workers.
