SharedCare: Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy in Collaboration With Your Practice

Help clients explore an emerging therapeutic pathway while preserving the relationship and continuity of care you’ve already built.

SharedCare is The Mindful Living Centre’s collaborative care program for therapists interested in participating in psychedelic-assisted therapy alongside an interdisciplinary medical and mental-health team.

When Your Client Is Doing the Work—but Still Feels Stuck

Your client is engaged. You’ve explored patterns, processed difficult experiences, developed coping skills, and worked together toward meaningful change.

But sometimes progress remains difficult.

You may find yourself wondering:

Is there another therapeutic pathway worth exploring?

Could psychedelic-assisted therapy be appropriate to consider?

How can I explore this emerging area responsibly and within my scope?

Can I remain involved rather than referring my client away?

SharedCare was designed around these questions.

Rather than asking therapists to hand their client’s care over to a separate program, SharedCare allows the existing therapist to remain an active part of the treatment journey.

You bring the relationship and understanding of your client. We provide the interdisciplinary infrastructure and collaborative support around you.

Your Relationship. Our Team. SharedCare.

What Is SharedCare?

SharedCare is a collaborative model offered by The Mindful Living Centre that allows therapists to participate in psychedelic-assisted therapy as part of a client’s broader course of care, where clinically appropriate.

Our interdisciplinary team includes psychologists, nurses, and nurse practitioners, supported by our administrative team.

SharedCare therapists can remain involved in preparation, intention setting, integration, and ongoing psychotherapy while our team provides the medical and operational infrastructure for the psychedelic-assisted components of care.

This preserves something a new provider cannot immediately replicate: your understanding of your client’s history, strengths, vulnerabilities, goals, and therapeutic journey.

The goal isn’t to replace the existing therapeutic relationship—it’s to bring additional expertise around it.

More Than a Medicine Session

SharedCare emphasizes thoughtful preparation, therapeutic support, and integration—not an isolated medical intervention.

Science Meets Compassion

Care combines an evolving evidence base with interdisciplinary oversight, individualized planning, and genuine human connection.

Care That Continues

The client’s relationship with their therapist doesn’t end when they enter SharedCare. Their therapist can remain part of the journey before, during, and after psychedelic-assisted treatment.

How SharedCare Works

SharedCare combines assessment and medical oversight with psychological preparation, guided psychedelic-assisted sessions, integration, and follow-up.

The specific pathway is individualized based on clinical assessment and client needs.

1. Assessment

A regulated medical professional completes an assessment to determine whether psychedelic-assisted treatment may be clinically appropriate.

2. Preparation & Intention Setting

The SharedCare therapist helps prepare the client psychologically and explore expectations, concerns, goals, and meaningful therapeutic intentions.

3. Guided Psychedelic-Assisted Sessions

Experiential sessions take place at The Mindful Living Centre’s Oakville location with appropriate medical supervision, monitoring, and safety protocols.

4. Integration & Follow-Up

The therapist helps the client explore their experience and connect emerging insights with existing therapeutic work and broader life goals, while the MLC team provides appropriate medical follow-up.

The result is a connected therapeutic pathway rather than an isolated intervention.

Your Role as a SharedCare Therapist

You don’t stop being your client’s therapist when they enter SharedCare. You become part of a broader collaborative team.

Depending on the client’s needs and treatment plan, SharedCare therapists may:

Provide psychological preparation and intention setting

Provide integration psychotherapy following experiential sessions

Connect emerging insights with existing therapeutic goals

Continue the client's broader course of psychotherapy

Collaborate with the SharedCare team to support continuity of care

SharedCare therapists continue to work within their professional scope and independently bill clients for the psychotherapy services they provide.

Interested—but New to Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy?

You don’t need to arrive as an expert.

SharedCare offers a supported pathway for appropriately trained therapists interested in responsibly developing their knowledge and competence in psychedelic-assisted therapy.

Participating therapists are required to complete a minimum of 30 hours of approved training covering areas such as preparation and integration, safety, ethics, psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy, and emerging best practices.

*The Mindful Living Centre is not affiliated with and receives no financial incentive from any specific training provider or program.

If you’re interested but aren’t sure whether your existing training meets SharedCare requirements, our team can help clarify the next steps.
